Mrs. Geaslin

Welcome!

I am so excited about this school year!

There are some awesome things happening in Water Valley I.S.D. this year, and guess what? YOU get to be a part of it! I am super excited to announce that, along with my wonderful English classes, I will be teaching a new elective this year:  Principles of Architecture! This is the first class in the Interior Design course of study! We are going to learn all sorts of things that you can actually apply to the "real world!" I'm so excited and I hope you are too!

You just need to do two things in order to be successful in my courses: 1) Put forth YOUR maximum effort. 2) Be respectful to me, your classmates, and the rules of the classroom. If you do these two things, I promise we will have a great year and you will move on to the next grade level full of new knowledge!

A Little Info About Me

Bio:  I am originally from Tomball, Texas (Houston area). We got tired of the hustle and bustle of the big city and felt that this is where we were called to plant our roots. I taught at WV previously back in 2012-2014, and came back as fast as I could! I've previously taught at Ingram ISD, Navasota ISD, and Tomball ISD. I've been teaching at Water Valley (for the 2nd time) since 2020. I have been married to my husband, Chad, since 2017. We don't have any children, but we have three dogs that are our pride & joy!

Education:  I graduated from Tomball High School in 1994. I graduated from Ranger College with an Associate of Arts degree, then transferred to UTSA and received my Bachelor of Arts in English Literature with a minor in Kinesiology. I played softball on scholarship throughout my collegiate career.

Interesting facts:  I am a two-time All-American 1st baseman in women's fastpitch softball at Ranger College and for the University of Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners. I was All-Region and All-State at Tomball HS. I was blessed to be able to play for the USA Olympic Team in the Canada Cup tournament in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. I love the Astros, Texans, and NASCAR. I'm even in a NASCAR fantasy league! I love to be creative: I paint, design, and do some woodwork. I'm very detail-oriented (sometimes to a fault). I love to travel! My guilty pleasure is any reality TV show on BRAVO. My favorite authors are Flannery O'Conner, Edgar Allan Poe, and Cormac McCarthy.

We are going to have a great year and I am super excited to work with each and every one of you!

Love,

Mrs. Geaslin
