🌱 Weekly FFA Schedule Update 🌾

Day 5 of Teacher Appreciation Week!🐾
Water Valley ISD is burrito-ing our gratitude into every bite—because our teachers are the meat of what makes this district amazing! From sunup to sundown, you wrap our students in knowledge, care, and encouragement. Today’s breakfast burritos were just a small way to spice up your morning and say THANK YOU. We huevos nothing but love for our teachers—you’re eggs-tra special and truly un-burrito-ble!

Dress Code Update:
Lately our students have become lax in following the dress code. While there are only a couple of weeks of school remaining in the 2024-2025 school year, please know that Water Valley ISD seeks to maintain high standards in dress and grooming. As a reminder: pajama pants and house shoes are not approved clothing for school. Shorts must extend past the fingertips when arms are relaxed at the side. Leggings must be covered by a top that extends past the buttocks area all the way around the body. No undergarments may show. Faces must be clean shaven. Boys hair must be short enough that it does not cover eyes when combed down and must not reach the collar in the back.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in this matter.
Please see the following examples:

Day 4 of Teacher Appreciation Week: We’re hooked on great food and even better people! Huge shoutout to Micky Baker and Dane Hoover for reeling in the flavor with a fantastic fish fry! You really cod us off guard with how delicious it was!

Our amazing WV staff are playing a fun game of Survivor, where they spin a wheel and receive a surprise challenge or “fortune” to complete. Mrs. Lange’s challenge? To share who she admires most—and snap a selfie with them!
Here’s what she had to say:
“I admire Chris for his dedication and strong finish! While most seniors fall into ‘senioritis,’ Chris hasn’t let it slow him down. He’s responsible, respectful, and always brings a great sense of humor. He’ll definitely be missed, but there’s no doubt his future is shining bright!”
— Kristina Lange

Here’s the scoop — it’s our 3rd day of Teacher Appreciation Day, and we’re chillin’ out with an ice cream bar, courtesy of NHS! Thanks for making learning so cool!

📅 Chromebook Turn-In Day for JH/HS is coming up!
📍 Friday, May 16th, 2025
Students, be sure to bring your Chromebook, charger, and case to school that day. Let's wrap up the year strong and get everything turned in! 💻✅

Happy Nurse Appreciation Day! A heartfelt thank you to Tallyn Holt, RN, BSN, for your tireless care and dedication to the health and well-being of our students and staff. Your kindness and expertise make our school a healthier, safer place for everyone!

Correction!!!
ELAR Honors classes will be offered to incoming 7th - 10th graders for the 2025-2026 school year, not the incoming 6th graders as was incorrectly stated in a previous post. Please excuse any confusion this caused.

Just a Reminder that the HS Athletic Banquet is on May 19th in the WVISD Cafetorium!
Please make sure if you are needing any meal tickets that you are purchasing them from the HS office by May 9th! All Athletes will be fed by the Athletic Booster Club!

It’s only Day 2 of Teacher Appreciation Week, but the Water Valley staff are already brewing with excitement! This morning, we were treated to the amazing flavors of Tom’s Traveling Coffee, and let’s just say… it was love at first sip! From lattes to cold brews, every cup was a hug in a mug.
A huge shoutout to Tom’s for fueling our day, warming our spirits, and making us feel extra special. We’re steaming with gratitude—and maybe a little more energized than usual!
Teacher Appreciation Week just keeps getting brew-tter!

Join us for the WV FFA Banquet on May 22nd at 6:00 PM in the Water Valley ISD Cafetorium as we celebrate the achievements of our FFA members. Click the link or scan the QR code to RSVP! This banquet is open to the whole community!

Tom's traveling coffee truck is here and ready to go!

We can't wait to gift our teachers a little caffeine to "espresso" our thanks for all they do tomorrow morning. Tom's Traveling Coffee truck will be at Water Valley tomorrow from 7:15-9:00. Our teachers and staff of course get the VIP treatment and get to move to the front of the line (as their time before school and/or morning conference time is limited), however, we invite Water Valley community to come by and purchase a drink if you would like! We appreciate Tom's Traveling Coffee truck coming out to help us show appreciation to our staff!

Our first celebration of Teacher Appreciation Week! 🐾
Teachers- You've delivered excellence all year long, and we're not crust-ing anyone else with the job-you're the real MVP's! Thanks for being a supreme team. Now enjoy some pizza, because you've earned a slice of the glory!
A big THANK YOU to Bada Bing Brick Oven Pizza for coming out and feeding our teachers and staff! We truly enjoyed having you here and the delicious pizza! 🍕

Incoming 6th through 10th graders for the 2025-2026 school year who plan to apply for Honors English, the essay portion is due May 9th. Please submit your essay to either Mrs. Hulseman or Mrs. Lange.
Your essay can either be typed or handwritten.
Thank you!

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week to the amazing educators of Water Valley ISD! Your passion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to our students make a lasting impact every day. Thank you for shaping minds, inspiring futures, and making our school community stronger! Be sure to thank your teacher!
