WVISD would like to announce that Trey Sisco will be assuming the position of Athletic Director for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year. Coach Sisco will continue in this capacity and also take on the Head Football Coaching duties for the 2025-2026 school year. This news may come as a surprise after current AD/HD Football Coach Aaron Whitmire achieved a record of 11-3 in his first year coaching six-man football and enjoyed a historical season for the program, making it to the state semi-final game. It is not the case as Coach Whitmire had informed administration before the school year that he would be retiring at the end of the 2024-2025 academic year, which he plans to do, but he felt it was in the best interest to step back now and allow the district to move forward immediately so that the athletic program can continue its success. Congratulations Coach Sisco and Congratulations on your planned retirement Coach Whitmire.

🎶Congratulations to our middle school band students who made the all-region band! They competed against 406 students in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade from 32 1A, 2A, 3A, and 4A schools! There will be a concert in January in Clyde, TX. More details to come. 🎶

Check out the incredible work from our theater arts students! They created mannequins using just tape and seran wrap by molding each other, resulting in blended builds that reflect both partners. This project focused on the power of body language and its impact on communication. Amazing job, everyone! 🎭🖌️
