Here’s the Spike Fest Tournament schedule for this Saturday, 1/25! If you know someone on one of these teams, make plans to come out to WV and watch some volleyball!! Door Entry -$3 ( Funds benefit NHS) Concession available (Funds benefit Student Council) We will have an award presentation following the last game! Hope to see a big crowd supporting these teams!!! The NHS wants to help our students, staff, and community spread some love and cheer for Valentine's Day. We have five options of Valentine 's Day Candy Grams for you to choose from and send to the special people in your life or the life of your child. Information and order forms are coming home with your child and can be picked up in the Elementary or High School Office. Forms and payment are due back on Thursday, January 30th. Please contact Mrs. Sims or Mrs. Chapman if you have questions. We look forward to making Valentine's Day special for your loved ones, friends, family, and teachers!

The STAAR testing dates have been set for Spring Testing. Please do your best to plan appointments around your child's testing dates. Data shows that students test better when they test on regularly scheduled testing days as opposed to make-up testing days. We know that illness can come at anytime, and we would never want a student to come to school sick to test, but if all non-emergency/illness appointments can be scheduled around testing that would be appreciated.

Parents, Guardians, Students, and Community Members: Next Monday, January 27 at 5:00 PM we are hosting our first parent/student panel of the spring semester. This is a time for you to ask questions, share ideas, and have an open dialogue with the Water Valley ISD administrative team consisting of Dr. Wheeler, Mr. Fulton, and Mrs. Colwell. We look forward to seeing you all there!

If you would like to nominate your child to be tested for Gifted and Talented, please fill out the google form by 1/30/2025. Additional forms will be sent home with your child. Once nominated the following are used for identification: Multiple sources are used for Kindergarten-Grade 5 GT identification including: Parent Information Survey Teacher Survey Grade appropriate achievement test Grade appropriate ability test Student Profile Please look over the attached description of a "bright/honors" child vs. a "gifted child" before filling out the google form. Our school is excited to partner with The American Heart Association this year, bringing awareness to heart disease, stroke, and CPR! Jayden Gomez and Bella Rodriguez have been selected to compete in the FCA Volleyball game this June in Abilene. Jayden will represent the Blue Team, while Bella will play for the Red Team. This is an incredible opportunity for both athletes to showcase their talent and represent Water Valley! Go Ladycats Go!
