WATER VALLEY, TX — The 2026 Water Valley One Act Play (OAP) season has come to a historic close. For the first time in the program's history, the troupe has concluded their competitive run as the State Alternate.
While the journey ends just shy of the state stage, the "Alternate" title officially ranks Water Valley among the top tier of all 1A programs in Texas. This is the furthest any theatrical production from Water Valley ISD has ever advanced, breaking long-standing records and setting a new gold standard for the Wildcat fine arts department.
A Season of Unprecedented Success
The path to becoming a State Alternate is one of the most rigorous in Texas high school extracurriculars. The cast and crew had to deliver powerhouse performances through District, Bi-District, Area, and Regional levels to reach this elite status.
A New Legacy
The 2026 season will be remembered as the year Water Valley OAP proved they could compete with the best in the state. As the sets are struck and the costumes put away, the "State Alternate" trophy stands as a reminder of what is possible for future Wildcat performers.
Congratulations to the cast, crew, and directors on your historic, record-breaking season!
