state volleyball 2025

The Water Valley Ladycats closed out an extraordinary season on Thursday afternoon, competing on the biggest stage in Texas high school volleyball—the UIL 1A State Championship—against a strong and seasoned Blum squad. In front of a packed crowd at the Curtis Culwell Center, the Ladycats fought with heart, grit, and Wildcat pride, ultimately finishing as the 2025 State Runner-Up.

From the first serve, Water Valley showed the determination that powered them through district, playoffs, and the semifinals. Their energy on the court, backed by a loud and proud community crowd dressed in black for the Ladycats’ blackout theme, made the championship atmosphere electric.

Though Blum secured the win, the Ladycats never backed down. Every rally was a testament to their teamwork, resilience, and competitive fire. They delivered momentum-shifting plays, key defensive stands, and the kind of hustle that defined their entire season.

The Ladycats finish their season as 1A State Runner-Up—a remarkable achievement and a celebration of the hard work, dedication, and character of each athlete on the roster.

Water Valley ISD is incredibly proud of these young women and all they accomplished. The Ladycats represented their school and community with excellence, class, and unstoppable Wildcat spirit.

Congratulations to the Water Valley Ladycats on an unforgettable season! 🖤🤍🏐
