Mrs. Geaslin

Welcome!

I am so excited about this school year!

There are some awesome things happening at Water Valley I.S.D. this year and YOU get to be a part of them! I am super excited to announce that, along with my wonderful English classes, I will be teaching a new elective again this year:  Interior Design I! This is the second course in the Interior Design area of study. Principles of Architecture was the first course, which was implemented last year. We are going to learn all sorts of things that you can actually apply to the "real world!" I'm so excited and I hope you are too!

You just need to do two things in order to be successful in my classes: 1) Put forth YOUR maximum effort. 2) Be respectful to me, your classmates, and the rules of the classroom. If you do these two things, I promise we will have a great year and you will move on to the next grade level full of new knowledge!

A Little Info About Me

Bio:  I am originally from Tomball, Texas (Houston area). We got tired of the hustle and bustle of the big city and felt that this is where we were called to plant our roots. I taught previously at WV back in 2012-2014, and came back as fast as I could! I've also taught/coached at Ingram ISD (2A), Navasota ISD (4A), and Tomball ISD (6A). I've been teaching at Water Valley (for the 2nd time) since 2020. I have been married to my husband, Chad, since 2017. We don't have any children, but we have three dogs (Copper, Penny, & Pepper) & two mini-donks (Willie & Waylon) that are our pride & joy!

Education:  I graduated from Tomball High School in 1994. I acquired my Associate of Arts Degree from Ranger College, then transferred to UTSA and received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature, along with several hours of coursework in Kinesiology. I played softball on a full-scholarship throughout my collegiate career. Currently, I am certified in English Literature (8-12), Physical Education (K-12), ESL, and Family & Consumer Sciences (30+ elective courses).

Interesting facts:  I am a two-time All-American 1st baseman in women's fastpitch softball at Ranger College and for the University of Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners. At Tomball HS, I received All-District, All-Region, MVP, and All-State honors. I was blessed to be able to play for the U.S.A. Olympic Team in the Canada Cup tournament in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. I love the Astros, Texans, and NASCAR. I'm even in a NASCAR fantasy league! I love to be creative: I paint, design, and do some woodwork. I'm very detail-oriented (sometimes to a fault). I love to travel! My guilty pleasure is any reality TV show on BRAVO. My favorite authors are Flannery O'Conner, Edgar Allan Poe, and Cormac McCarthy.

We are going to have a great year and I am super excited to work with each and every one of you!

Love,

Mrs. Geaslin
